An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 was reported near central Peru's coast.
The US Geological Survey says the temblor hit at 3 am local time Wednesday about 10 miles (15 kilometers) northeast of Chincha Alta, and its depth was 30 miles (48 kilometers). (AP)
