Obama at UN: Peace talks "should press on until completed"

None

President Barack Obama is calling on world leaders to support new efforts to bring about peace in the Mideast, while declaring the global economy has been "pulled back from the brink of a depression."

Obama, visiting the United Nations where world leaders are gathered, said there is an opportunity to bring to an end generations of violence and instability, and urged world leaders to support the current, renewed set of negotiations. And he also says the United States has refocused and intensified its efforts to combat violence from the al-Qaida terrorist network. (AP)
