Jordan's King at UN: Everyone loses if peace talks fail
None
Jordan's King Abdullah said at the UN General Assembly that peace is hanging on the balance. The Hashemite leader did not mention the settlement construction freeze, but urged both sides to work hard and produce results.
Abdullah noted that the status quo was not acceptable, and that the current Arab peace initiative offered Israel an unprecedented opportunity for a comprehensive agreement, which will normalize Israel's ties with 57 Arab and Muslim countries. The king warned that everyone will lose if peace talks fail. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
