Cuba to allow private hiring of non-relatives

Cuba's socialist government is expanding the scope of private employment it allows amid an effort to trim half a million government jobs.
A significant new element is that private business people in some categories will be able to employ non-relatives for the first time. Officials in the past have shied away from allowing that because communist theory tends to see private employment of others as exploitation. (AP)
