Court disallows gender separation on Mea Shearim sidewalks
The High Court ruled against the separation of men from women on the sidewalks of Jerusalem's haredi neighborhood, Mea Shearim. The court also disallowed the positioning of people to enforce "modesty" for the neighborhood committee.
The court was compelled to address the issue after extremists tried to illegally enforce separation between men and women in the area during Sukkoth. (Kobi Nahshoni and Ronen Medzini)
