Left-wing activists protest near Ashdod: 'IDF not trustworthy'
Some 20 people, including family members of the flotilla activists who tried to breach the blockade Israel imposes on the Gaza Strip, demonstrated Tuesday near Ashdod port, to where the flotilla vessel Irene was escorted by Israel's navy.
"We're here to put an end to the occupation and give the Palestinians freedom of movement and the right to study freely," said Zvia, mother of Yonatan Shapira. She also expressed her fears for her son's safety: "An army that fires phosphorus bombs is not an army you can trust," she said. (Shmulik Hadad)
