Assad to visit Iran next month 'to tighten ties'
Syrian President Bashar Assad is scheduled to visit Iran at the beginning of next week to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to tighten ties between the two countries, according to a report in Syrian media.
The Iranian news agency Maher quoted the Iranian ambassador to Syria as saying that the two are slated to discuss ways in which bi-lateral relations can be strengthened. Ahmadinejad, who visited Damascus just a few days ago, will visit Lebanon on October 13. (Roee Nahmias)
