Police kill 15 rebels in Russia's volatile south
Police in Russia's volatile North Caucasus region killed 15 suspected separatist rebels in two coordinated raids on insurgent hideouts Wednesday.
Both raids were conducted in the province of Dagestan, a hotbed of extremist violence. Ten rebels were killed in the city of Kaspiisk after police surrounded an apartment in which they had taken shelter, security officials said. (AP)
