Iran denounces personal sanctions as 'against int'l law'
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast denounced the US decision to impose sanctions on Iranian individuals suspected of violating human rights, calling the move "meddling in Iran's internal affairs." According to him, "This is against international law."
Within the framework of the sanctions, assets of senior members of the Revolutionary Guard will be frozen in light of "much evidence" of their involvement in oppressing the opposition in Iran following last year's contested presidential elections. (AFP)
