Israel condemns Nigerian independence celebrations terror attack
Israel issued a notice condemning the terror attack which took place Friday during Nigeria's Independence Day celebrations. Jerusalem sent condolences to the families of the 12 victims of the car bomb in the country's capital, Abuja, and said Israel stands by the Nigerian nation.
Authorities in Nigeria announced the arrest of a former senior member of a rebel group whose members had threatened to attack during the festivities. Nigerian security forces said they had received advance warning of the attack from foreign sources. (Ronen Medzini and news agencies)
