Armed gang kidnaps group near Acapulco's tourist strip

An armed gang kidnapped a group of about 20 people in Mexico's Pacific city of Acapulco, Mexican media said Saturday, the latest blow to the iconic beach resort that has been stained by drug violence.

Around 20 people were kidnapped by gunmen in the afternoon on Thursday in a wealthy area of Acapulco near the main tourist strip of hotels, shops and discos that lines the beach, leading dailies Reforma and El Universal said on their websites. (Reuters)
