Turkey-Syria ties 'basis for Mideast stability'
Relations between Turkey and Syria "are the basis for stability in the Middle East," a senior official in Damascus said during a meeting between ministers from both countries.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem, who attended the meeting, said, "If indirect talks between Damascus and Jerusalem are renewed, Turkey should serve as mediator." (AFP)
