Rousseff leads in early results from Brazil election
Ruling party candidate Dilma Rousseff took an early lead in Brazil's presidential election, but was well short of the majority of votes needed to avoid a runoff, partial results indicated on Sunday.
Rousseff, a former leftist militant aiming to become the first woman to lead Brazil, had 42 percent of valid votes with just over 10 percent of ballots tallied, according to Brazil's electoral authority. (Reuters)
