Icelanders stage loud protest outside Parliament

Hundreds of protesters are demonstrating outside the Icelandic Parliament ahead of an appearance by Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir. The demonstrators are beating drums outside the building in protest of the government's handling of the financial crash, which sent the Icelandic economy tumbling and collapsed its currency.

Although the economy is slowly recovering, many in Iceland fear their homes will be repossessed and say the government is failing to protect home owners. Last week, nearly 2,000 people camped outside Parliament to protest. Some threw eggs at lawmakers as they made their way to the building in Reykjavik. (AP)
