Erdan: Freeze construction of 'polluting' Palestinian town
Minister for Environmental Protection Gilad Erdan called for freezing construction of the new Palestinian town of Rawabi, north of Ramallah, so that the environmental damage liable to be caused by its construction can be investigated. Erdan visited the construction site and expressed his fears about air and water pollution.
The minister said that if no response to these fears is received by the staff of his ministry within a few weeks, he will turn to the Defense Ministry and attempt to halt construction. (Ronen Bodoni)
