Czechs to deploy more troops in Afghanistan as situation worsens
The Czech government has approved a Defense Ministry proposal to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan by almost 200 next year.
Prime Minister Petr Necas says up to 720 service members could be deployed in Afghanistan next year while up to 640 in 2012. The Defense Ministry earlier said "a worsened security situation" in Afghanistan prompted the move, which still needs parliamentary approval. (AP)
