Netanyahu visits Lod, pledges to restore security to city

The government is committed to the city of Lod and its residents, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday. "We cannot stand idly by at the face of recent events," he added referring to the recent crime spell the city has experienced.
In a city council meeting attended by the interior minister and public security minister, Netanyahu promised to make Lod attractive for tourists and young people. "I will not have Lod turning into the Wild West. We shall not let crime, violence and law breakers run wild. Our aim is to restore security to Lod," he said. (Aviel Magnezi)
