Nigeria: Muslim sect members kill political leader

Police say members of a radical Muslim sect have killed a political leader in northern Nigeria, the latest attack by a group that engineered a massive prison break last month.
Police commissioner Ibrahim Abudu told The Associated Press that investigators believe members of the feared Boko Haram sect shot and killed Awanna Ngala, the leader of the state's ruling All Nigeria People's Party. Abudu says the Wednesday night attack came barely three hours after suspected Boko Haram members shot two security agents in front of the home of the speaker of the state's House of Assembly. (AP)
