NY: Agreement signed for purchase of F35 jets from US

Defense Ministry Director General Udi Shani signed an agreement for the purchase of the first squadron of F35 stealth jets from the US, for some $2.75 billion. "This is an historic event and a new era in the State of Israel's security and strategic strength," Shani said in a ceremony held in New York, adding that Israel intends to buy additional planes.
