Germany investigates man over Iranian nuclear ties

None

Prosecutors say the managing director of a German company has been investigated for attempting to ship a substance to Iran that could be a component of nuclear weapons. Berlin prosecution spokesman Martin Steltner said Saturday the man was investigated for trying to ship tritium to Iran, in violation of German export laws.

Steltner did not elaborate, but said the investigation was concluded. He did not reveal the results of the investigation or say whether charges might now be filed. German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported the tritium shipment of Ahmad R.'s company was stopped by customs in December 2007 at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport. (AP)
