Palestinian official: Arab League to discuss alternatives next month

The Arab League Follow-up Committee said it would meet in a month to review the alternatives proposed by Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, if the United States fails to convince Israel to halt settlement construction, Abbas' spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina said in a statement.

Rudeina referred to a possibility that the Arab League will support a unilateral appeal on behalf of the Palestinians to the American administration and the UN's Security Council, to recognize a Palestinian state along the '67 borders. (Ali Waked)
