The government decided that the change to the Citizenship Law amendment proposed by Defense Minister Ehud Barak would be discussed in the ministerial committee. Barak voted against the formulation proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and wanted to add the words "in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence" to the pledge of allegiance.
Barak said whoever did not accept the principles of the Declaration may not be worthy of sitting in government. (Attila Somfalvi)
