Peres to European FMs: We must not give up on peace
President Shimon Peres met with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos on Sunday and said, "Peace involves many difficulties. We must not give up. We must advance peace, since the alternative is so dangerous."
Kouchner said that the Europeans want to be useful for the process while Moratinos noted that their only purpose is to assist the parties. He further added there was room for optimism as both sides had signaled they wanted to overcome the obstacles. (Attila Somfalvi)
