Civilian plane crashes near Kabul

An aircraft, believed to be a civilian transport plane, crashed into mountains near the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said.
Afghan and international forces have set out on a search and rescue mission to the area of the crash, around 25 to 30 kilometres east of Kabul, ISAF said in a statement."Early reports indicate the plane is an L-100 Hercules aircraft, the civilian equivalent of a military C-130. The plane was not an ISAF aircraft," the statement said.
