American citizen Eric Bellucci, 30, who fled to Israel after allegedly stabbing his parents to death in New York on Wednesday, will be extradited to the US on Saturday.
During a hearing held by the Interior Ministry's Population and Immigration Authority, Bellucci waived his right to appeal the decision. A representative from the American Embassy was present at the proceedings.
Bellucci boarded an El Al flight at Newark Airport after allegedly murdering his parents in their home. According to suspicions, he planned to hide out at a friend's apartment in Tel Aviv.
Bellucci, who arrived in Tel Aviv Thursday morning, was caught by Israeli authorities at the Ben Gurion International Airport on Friday morning while apparently trying to purchase a ticket to Beijing after his escape was reported in local and international media.
A ground attendant who recognized Bellucci quickly summoned airport security officers, who detained Bellucci at the departures terminal.
