The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Monday it had tightened security of its embassies and consulates abroad after a threatening phone call in support of Iranian asylum seekers.
According to a ministry spokesman the call was made last Wednesday to the Greek Consulate in Los Angeles, on behalf of an Iranian organization. "The stranger threatened attacks against personnel and buildings of diplomatic and consular representations abroad if the request for political asylum for Iranian nationals living in Greece was not satisfied," said Grigoris Delavekouras.
