Balad chair: Loyalty oath bill racist despite change
None
Balad Chairman Jamal Zahalka commented Monday on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposed change to the loyalty oath amendment in the Citizenship Act, saying that it "changes nothing."
"This law remains racist because it demands Palestinians debased themselves by pledging allegiance to the Jewish state. If a country ever forces Jews to pledge allegiance to Christian or Muslim ideology, they would be accused of being anti-Semitic." (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
