Israel 2011 budget: NIS 49B to defense, NIS 35B to education

The bi-annual budget for 2011-2012 which came to NIS 700 billion (about $195 billion) has been laid before the Knesset.

The defense budget for 2011 is the largest at NIS 49 billion ($14 billion). The education budget for the same year came in at second place with NIS 35 billion ($10 billion). (Zvi Lavi)
