Senior officials: Israel must prepare for one-sided concessions

With no end to the Palestinian negotiation deadlock in sight and signals from the Palestinians of their intentions to turn to international organizations and seek recognition as a Palestinian state, senior government sources are holding closed door discussions over the possibility that Israel will need to make one-sided concessions in negotiations with the Palestinians.

"It is possible that Abbas has no interest in negotiations", the sources told Ynet. "If there is no partner, we must think of alternatives". One sided concessions could include former Prime Minster Ehud Olmert's 'convergence' plan which would include a one-sided withdrawal from large areas of Judea and Samaria and convergence into settlement blocs (Attila Somfalvi)
