Haiti cholera toll tops 250

The death toll from a cholera epidemic in Haiti has reached more than 250, health authorities said on Sunday, but they added the outbreak may be stabilizing with fewer new deaths and new cases reported over the last 24 hours.

Gabriel Thimote, Director General of Haiti's Health Department, told a news conference in Port-au-Prince that the accumulated deaths since the outbreak began stood at 253, while total cases were 3,015.(Rueters)
