Livni: Yeshiva student bill could lead to rift
None
Opposition chairwoman Tzipi Livni stressed at a Knesset hearing that a new bill granting yeshiva students millions in state funds was not just a matter of "a fight between sectors".
"We must establish priorities that respect all parts of the public, the haredim as well, but not abuse political power at the expense of those who serve in the army, work between classes, and pay taxes. The job of leaders is to see what's best for all. This law could lead to a rift," she said. (Roni Sofer)
