The White House is disputing Afghan President Hamid Karzai's assertion that Washington provides him with "bags of money."
President Barack Obama's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, told reporters Tuesday that the White House is not in the "big bags of cash business." Karzai acknowledged on Monday that he receives millions of dollars in cash from Iran. But he added that Washington gives him "bags of money" too because his office lacks funds. (AP)
