Bill: Authorize chief rabbi to okay IDF conversions

Knesset Members Zevulun Orlev and Uri Orbach (Habayit Hayehudi) has submitted a bill which would see the chief military rabbi approving IDF conversions himself, without the permission of Israel's chief rabbi.
Following the legal and halachic debate over the legitimacy of IDF conversions, the MKs suggested that the chief rabbi would be recognized as the "head of the community" for recognizing the military conversion certificates signed by him. (Kobi Nahshoni)
