The Higher Arab Monitoring Committee announced a city-wide strike that will take place Thursday in Umm al-Fahm to protest what it describes as "exaggerated police violence that was directed at local protestors today."
The committee is demanding an investigation into the matter. It also announced that it intends to circulate message on the subject among international organizations, and file an official complaint with the Police Internal Investigations Department. "What happened today was a very dangerous occurrence," said Mohammed Zeidan, chairman of the committee. "It was an attack by security forces." (Sharon Roffe-Ofir)
