Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak postponed on Saturday the annual ruling party conference to late December from November, a meeting that would be closely watched to determine if he will seek re-election.
The National Democratic Party (NDP) conference had been due on Nov. 9-10, before a key parliamentary vote later in the month, but Mubarak said it would now take place on Dec. 25-26 to allow the party more time to prepare for the vote. (Reuters)
