German minister says training key in Afghanistan

Germany's defense minister said Tuesday the international community must lower expectations of what is achievable in Afghanistan, and that the success of the NATO-led mission there will rely heavily on progress in training local forces.

"We have been in a field of illusions for quite a significant time," Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg told reporters in Beijing, where he was on an official visit. (AP)
