US condemns Iran's planned execution of woman

The United States on Tuesday condemned reported plans by Iran to execute a woman accused of adultery whose case has provoked a world outcry.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani was originally sentenced to death by stoning for adultery. Human rights groups said Iranian authorities now plan to hang her on a charge of murder on Wednesday. (Reuters)
