Egyptian Minister: Mubarak concerned over region's future

President Shimon Peres met with Egyptian Intelligence Minister General Omar Suleiman and discussed strengthening strategic relations between the countries over political negotiations and the issue of captive soldier Gilad Shalit.

"Egypt is a key state in the Middle East and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak must be thanked for the efforts he has undertaken for over 30 years" said Peres. Suleiman stated that he was visiting Israel because of Mubarak's concerns over the region's future". (Ronen Medzini)
