Russia's Medvedev vetoes bill limiting right to protest
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev vetoed a proposed bill that would have limited the right to protest and demonstrate. The proposal was approved by the State Duma (lower house) about a year ago.
In a letter to the Duma, Medvedev said he opposed the bill because it violated citizens' basic rights as protected by Russia's constitution. (AFP)
