MK Yariv Levin (Likud), referring to the renewed calls to artists not to appear in Ariel's cultural center, said he would start an urgent debate in the Education Committee to determine new criteria for cultural bodies seeking support.
The majority of Israelis are tired of fringe groups controlling Israel's cinemas and theaters, he said, and the new criteria should encourage art which expresses the "culture of our forefathers and our glorious heritage." (Roni Sofer)
