IDF soldier Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, joined his parents Sunday night as they flew to the US for an official visit.
The Prime Minister's Office said the soldier's vacation from the army was authorized by his commanding officers.
"The Netanyahu family will pay for Yair's flight and lodging expenses out of its own pocket," the office said in a statement.
Last summer Yair Netanyahu was handed a10-day detention sentence after he showed up late at the IDF Spokesperson's Office headquarters, where he serves.
