Yishai: I agreed with Steinitz on stipends bill prior to budget vote

Interior Minister Eli Yishai (Shas) said in an interview with a haredi website that he had come to an understanding regarding the yeshiva student bill with Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz prior to the first reading vote on the state budget. The Government Law stipulates that such agreements be reported to the cabinet secretary.
Yishai's office stated in response: "No agreement was signed. There was an understanding that the haredi factions would bring the yeshiva student stipends bill for the Knesset's approval." (Roni Sofer)
