Meretz chairman: Culture minister acting like Bolshevik commissar
Meretz Chairman Knesset Member Chaim Oron called on Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat to withdraw her plan to require cultural establishments funded by the state to perform anywhere in Israel.
"The culture minister is acting like a Bolshevik commissar and not like a state representative," he said. "One would expect the person entrusted with supporting culture to show more respect and tolerance towards its creators and their right to freedom of thought," MK Oron added. (Roni Sofer)
