Hanegbi: This is a very sad moment

None

Knesset Member Tzachi Hanegbi (Kadima) reacted to a court decision which determined that his offences involved moral turpitude and said that later today he would report to the Knesset chairman and present him with an announcement of his immediate suspension from the Knesset.

Upon leaving the court Hanegbi said: "My work in the public sphere ends at this moment. There is no doubt that the pain and frustration is eased by the knowledge that I will not be prevented from serving in the next Knesset. But this is a very sad moment". He suggested that MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) replace him as Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman. (Aviad Glickman and Attila Somfalvi)
