Ashkenazi: Need for accurate munitions will grow in efforts to avoid innocent
Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said that in the kind of confrontations the Israel Defense Forces deals with it is necessary to strike a blow against the enemy before the battle begins and to significantly deepen intelligence abilities in the process.
Speaking at an artillery corps convention in Zichron Yaacov, Ashkenazi said that in his estimation the operational need for accurate munitions will grow. "Even during Operation Cast Lead over 80% of the munitions used by the IDF were accurate in hitting their targets as a concerted effort to avoid hitting the innocent." (Hanan Greenberg)
