Former admirals say UK cuts put Falklands at risk

A group of retired senior British military commanders on Wednesday called for the British government to reverse recently announced defense cuts, saying they would leave the Falkland Islands at risk of attack.

In a letter to the Times newspaper, the retired naval chiefs said the decision to axe an aircraft carrier and retire the Harrier fighter jet force as part of a Strategic Defence Spending Review was incomprehensible and "dangerous". (Reuters)
