Clinton: US opposed to unilateral steps by Israel, Palestinians
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated that the US opposes any unilateral steps by Israel or the Palestinians.
During a joint press conference with her Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Clinton said negotiations were the right way to solve the conflict. She spoke on the same day that the Palestinian Authority decided to ask the UN Security Council to debate the issue of Israel's settlements in the West Bank. (AFP)
