Pope: Internet increases loneliness

None

Pope Benedict XVI warns that the internet might increase "feelings of loneliness and disorientation", especially amongst young people. In a conference held at the Vatican, he noted that the internet is responsible for the "state of emergency regarding education – a challenge which we must respond to creatively".

The pope has previously warned that the growing use of new technologies is dangerous because it blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. (AFP)
