Rivlin: Obama thinks shortcuts can be made in Middle East

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin addressed recent political developments in a meeting with deputy chairman of Germany's Bundestag, who is currently visiting Israel. "Obama believes shortcuts can be made in the Middle East, with Europe taking his lead. The Palestinians have ceased to engage in negotiations seriously. They are waiting for the outcomes of negotiations between Israel and the international community," he said.
"The Israelis wonder what will happen the next time there is a difference of opinion with the US? Will every move be made fearing a no-veto policy from now on?" he added. (Roni Sofer)
