US officials: Deal close on NATO missile shield

Officials say the US and its NATO allies are close to an agreement to erect a missile shield over Europe.

 

In outlines of the deal provided to The Associated Press, US officials say the arrangement will connect a limited system of US anti-missile interceptors and radars planned for southeastern Europe with expanded European-owned missile defenses. (AP)
